35 Years of Tidewater: From Vision to Icon
In 1990, Tidewater Golf Club opened its gates along the Cherry Grove marsh with a bold vision: create a course that was visually stunning, strategically demanding, and unmistakably coastal. Few could have imagined that 35 years later, Tidewater would stand as one of the most recognizable and photographed courses on the Grand Strand.
Over the decades, Tidewater has weathered literal storms, evolving industry trends, and changing generations of golfers — all while maintaining the character that makes it special:

A New Era Around the Greens: Our First Full Year with Renovated Bunkers
While 2025 honored the past, it also showcased one of the most impactful course enhancements in Tidewater’s history.
After months of planning and construction beginning in late 2024, 2025 marked the first full season with our completely renovated greenside bunkers. Every bunker was thoughtfully refreshed with modern liner systems, improved drainage, reshaped edges, and premium sand — all while preserving the strategic intent of the original design.
The result was a noticeable difference in how the course played, looked, and felt:
