How Tidewater Golf Club Is Growing the Game Through Women’s Golf, Beginner Instruction & Community Programs
If you’ve been looking for beginner golf lessons in Myrtle Beach, a women’s golf clinic, or simply a welcoming place to learn the game, June was an exciting month at Tidewater Golf Club.
As part of KemperSports Player Development Month, Tidewater joined golf facilities across the country in supporting three important initiatives:
- Grow the Game
- #MakeGolfCool
- #LetsAllPlay
These initiatives focus on making golf more welcoming, more accessible, and more enjoyable for players of every age and skill level. Throughout June, our staff hosted instructional clinics, social golf programs, and community events designed to introduce new golfers to the game while helping existing players continue improving.
Whether someone was picking up a golf club for the first time or simply looking for more people to play with, our goal remained the same—create an environment where everyone feels comfortable enjoying golf.
34 Women Joined Our Second Annual Fore the Ladies Golf Clinic
One of the biggest highlights of June was welcoming 34 women to Tidewater Golf Club for our second annual Fore the Ladies instructional clinic.
This complimentary event was open to golfers of every experience level and provided a fun, pressure-free introduction to golf.
Our staff guided participants through stations covering:
- Putting
- Chipping
- Pitching
- Full swing fundamentals
- Golf etiquette
- Practice tips for beginners
More importantly, the morning was designed to help women meet one another.
One of the biggest challenges new golfers face isn’t learning the game – it’s finding people to play with. Throughout the clinic, we encouraged participants to connect with one another, helping create future golf partners, friendships, and confidence to continue playing.
Helping people discover that golf is fun, social, and welcoming is exactly what KemperSports Player Development Month is all about.
Myrtle Beach Golf Gals Finds a Home at Tidewater
Another exciting addition this summer has been welcoming Myrtle Beach Golf Gals to Tidewater.
Founded by Lisa Reynolds Brinkley, Myrtle Beach Golf Gals was created after she recognized a need for a supportive community where women throughout the Grand Strand could learn golf, improve their skills, and build friendships.
Today, the organization brings together career women and golfers from across the Myrtle Beach area who simply enjoy spending time together on the golf course.
To help support the group’s continued growth, Tidewater has become one of its regular gathering locations for afternoon rounds.
Our Director of Instruction, Cory Hill, also hosted several instructional clinics for members, covering everything from golf fundamentals and short-game techniques to course management and practice habits that golfers can use during every round.
Programs like Myrtle Beach Golf Gals demonstrate that growing golf isn’t always about lowering scores – it’s about building a welcoming community where everyone feels like they belong.
Ladies on the Links Continues Throughout July
Because of the excitement surrounding Player Development Month, we’re continuing the momentum all summer long.
Our Ladies on the Links program now meets every Tuesday and Thursday evening throughout July.
This social nine-hole golf gathering is open to women of every skill level.
Whether you’re looking to:
- Learn golf in a relaxed setting
- Meet new golf partners
- Build confidence on the course
- Spend time outdoors after work
- Enjoy Tidewater’s beautiful marsh views and cool coastal breezes
Ladies on the Links provides a welcoming atmosphere where golf is just as much about friendships as it is about birdies.
If you’ve been searching for a women’s golf league or ladies golf group in Myrtle Beach, we’d love to have you join us.
