Matthew Scabery has dedicated 25 years to Tidewater Golf Club, starting his journey in December 1999. A native of North Myrtle Beach, Matt has deep roots in the community where he was born and raised. He has been married to his wife, Trina, for 29 years, and they have two sons, Maxon (18) and Carter (15). Maxon follows in his father’s footsteps, working at Tidewater on the bag drop for the past 2.5 years.
Matt pursued his studies in Graphic Arts at the Savannah College of Art and Design. His entry into the golf business was serendipitous, starting at the Landings Golf Club in Savannah. He joined the golf club’s basketball league but needed to be an employee to play, which led him to begin his long-standing career in golf. Known as a jack of all trades, master of none, Matt has experience in all facets of the golf industry, from maintenance to restaurant and counter services.
Growing up in a family restaurant, Matt was involved in carrying trays, serving food, and cooking, which sparked his passion for working with the public. His diverse background and dedication have made him a valuable asset to Tidewater Golf Club.

Shannon Duncan has dedicated 28 years to Tidewater, where she has become a beloved and integral part of the team.
Passion for the Job:
Shannon’s favorite aspect of her job is meeting new people and coworkers. Over the years, she has formed countless friendships, creating many special memories along the way.
Fun Fact:
Shannon is an avid animal lover, especially cats.
Favorite Dish at Bogey’s:
Shannon’s top choice on the menu is the BBQ sandwich with slaw.
Callahan Williams

I relocated to North Myrtle Beach from Phoenix, Arizona, and joined the Tidewater Golf Club team in October 2025. Prior to this role, I worked as a greenskeeper at Corte Bella Golf Club, where I developed a strong foundation in turf management and daily course operations. I made the move to South Carolina to continue growing in the golf and agronomy field while experiencing the unique culture and traditions of the South.
What I value most about Tidewater is not only its incredible landscape and location, but also the genuine sense of community. From the members and homeowners to the staff throughout the clubhouse, everyone contributes to an environment that feels welcoming and connected.
Outside of work, you can often find me on the beach, exploring the local area, or out on the golf course—I truly enjoy playing the game as much as I enjoy caring for it.
My goal at Tidewater is to honor and uphold the tradition that has been built here over the years, and to help ensure this is a place people are proud to call their home course.

I relocated to North Myrtle Beach, SC from Maggie Valley, North Carolina, in July 2021. Before moving, I served as the Golf Shop Manager at Maggie Valley Club and Resort. Since July 21, 2021, I have been a part of the Tidewater Golf Club team. I hold an Associate of Business Administration degree from Haywood Community College. I recently got my Class A certification through the PGA this October 2024. In my free time, I enjoy playing golf or relaxing on the beach.

I am the face behind most of the social media and marketing initiatives here at Tidewater Golf Club! I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Retail Marketing and Management. With extensive experience in all aspects of retail and the golf industry, I’ve developed a strong passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving growth through strategic marketing.
Since joining the Tidewater team, I’ve had the opportunity to blend my marketing expertise with the vibrant world of golf. I love being creative with photography, capturing the beauty of our stunning course and the surrounding area. This allows me to create engaging content that showcases the unique charm of Tidewater to our members and guests.
Recently, I’ve found more time to indulge my growing passion for the game of golf, and there’s no better place for that than the Golf Capital of the World!
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me golfing, kayaking, at the beach or traveling.
