Myrtle Beach Elite Among Grand Strand’s Most Popular 2020 Golf Packages

No 3 Green & 4th Hole

The spring season is coming into focus along the Myrtle Beach golf scene, as is the demand for one of the area’s most popular golf packages.

The Myrtle Beach Elite, which packages four of the Grand Stand’s top 20 courses, according to a poll of local PGA professionals, has emerged as one of the area’s premier offers.

The Myrtle Beach Elite packages Tidewater Golf Club, one of the best courses in the nation, with Prestwick Country Club, Arrowhead Country Club and Arcadian Shores Golf Club to create a golf vacation that rivals almost any in the Southeast.

Tidewater, which has been ranked among America’s top 100 public courses and is No. 3 on a list of Myrtle Beach’s top 20 layouts, anchors the offer. Tidewater is among the country’s most scenic courses, featuring eight holes that play along either Cherry Grove Inlet or the Intracoastal Waterway.

The holes that play along Cherry Grove are particularly stunning. The inlet runs along the right side of the par 5 13th, which showcases the course’s most undulating green and a view of the Atlantic Ocean.

The third and 12th holes also bring Cherry Grove Inlet into play and are the prettiest pair of par 3s in golf-rich South Carolina. While Tidewater is the highest profile course in the package, Prestwick (No. 5), Arrowhead (No.12) and Arcadian Shores (No. 18) are all regarded among Myrtle Beach’s best as well.

A Pete and P.B. Dye design, Prestwick is a stern test of golf highlighted by a memorable back nine. Arrowhead, a Tom Jackson/Raymond Floyd course, is a 27-hole facility featuring several holes that play along the Intracoastal Waterway and outstanding year-round conditions.

Arcadian Shores was famed architect Rees Jones’ first solo design and a 2018 renovation project allowed the layout to reclaim its place among the area’s upper echelon.
