CHERRY GROVE, S.C. – Tidewater Golf Club, long one of Myrtle Beach’s premier courses, has much to be grateful for as 2022 comes to a close. With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, what better time to acknowledge the five things Tidewater is most thankful for as the course looks back at another successful year
As always, Tidewater is most appreciative of the golfers who came from all over America to play one of Myrtle Beach’s best courses. Tidewater is renowned for its beauty, especially the four holes that play along Cherry Grove, but it is golfers, locals and vacationing players alike, who breathe life into one of the area’s most memorable properties.

● We aren’t breaking any news here, but Tidewater is Myrtle Beach’s prettiest course and on the shortlist of
The goal at Tidewater is to deliver the best experience possible for players, not chase awards, but it was gratifying to win both Myrtle Beach and South Carolina Golf Course of the Year honors. By virtue of winning the awards, Tidewater was nominated for the national course of the year honors. It’s always nice to earn that type of recognition.
Perhaps what Tidewater is most thankful for are the reviews provided by players who have enjoyed the layout throughout the year. In 704 Google reviews Tidewater enjoys an average rating of 4.5 stars. “You get exactly what you pay for here,” E Stauffer wrote in a 5-star Google review that was representative of how many people feel about the course. “Breathtaking views, and golf by the shoreline. Doesn’t get much better. Staff and service was top notch, as well as the facility itself. If you’re in Myrtle Beach…. Come to Tidewater Golf Club.”
To deliver the type of experience Tidewater strives to provide requires a dedicated staff. From the bag drop through the 19th hole, the goal is to deliver a level of customer service that equals the beauty of the course. Tidewater is thankful for the staff that makes that makes that kind of service the expectation.
Looking back on 2022, Tidewater is appreciative for the relative cooperation of Mother Nature. Sure, Hurricane Ian grazed the area but there was no lasting damage and the weather throughout the year, particularly during the course’s peak seasons, was very good, allowing golfers to enjoy the course at its best.
